French government favours compromise over pension reform - prime minister

PARIS (Reuters) – The French government is favourable towards compromises over pension reform, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Wednesday, a week before a planned transport workers’ strike.
“The reform of the universal pension system is very important for the country, very important,” Philippe told a news conference.
