TOKYO (Reuters) - The Japanese government will compile an economic stimulus package as soon as possible as a pre-emptive measure against heightening overseas risks, Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said on Friday.

The package will consist of measures for disaster relief, steps to boost Japan's productivity and those to spur investment after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nishimura told a news conference after a cabinet meeting.

He said the amount of spending will depend on proposals to be made by various ministries.
