BRUSSELS (Reuters) - EU antitrust regulators are set to open a full-scale investigation into Boeing's <BA.N> $4.75 billion (3.8 billion pounds) bid for a controlling stake in Brazilian planemaker Embraer's <EMBR3.SA> commercial aircraft arm, people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

The European Commission's current review of the deal is scheduled to end on Oct. 4.

A full-scale investigation could take up to five months and raise pressure on Boeing to offer concessions to address competition concerns.
