LONDON (Reuters) - England's Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has pulled out of the national team squad and returned to his club due to illness, the Football Association said on Saturday.
Lingard, 26, missed England training on Friday and was not named amongst the squad for the Euro 2020 Group A qualifier against Bulgaria at Wembley on Saturday.
The FA then confirmed Lingard will miss England's next game against Kosovo at St Mary's Stadium on Tuesday.
Lingard has featured in all four of United's Premier League matches this season but has yet to score this season.
His goal drought for club and country goes back to January when he scored for United against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United side, who are eighth, next face Leicester City in the Premier League on Sept. 14.
