Poland's ruling party has 47% support before October vote

WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland's ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) still enjoys the highest support of any group before parliamentary elections in October, according to a poll released on Friday.

A PiS-led coalition led the poll with 47% support. It main rival, Civic Coalition, which includes Civic Platform (PO), was at 19%. The leftist bloc Lewica had 9% and PSL/Kukiz'15 had 6%. The state polls was conducted by CBOS on Aug. 22-29.

Poland, the biggest post-communist country in the European Union, will hold elections to the lower and upper houses of parliament on Oct. 13 after four years of PiS rule.
