HARARE (Reuters) - Zimbabwe’s state doctors have rejected the government’s offer of a 60% salary increase and plan to go on strike on Sept.3 if their demand for their salaries to be paid in U.S. dollars is not met.

In a letter sent to the government on Monday, the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association said its members could no longer afford to report for duty amid surging inflation and continued deterioration of Zimbabwe's economy.
