(Reuters) - Euro zone consumer confidence rose by 0.8 point in May from the April number, figures released on Tuesday showed.
The European Commission said a flash estimate showed euro zone consumer morale improved to -6.5 this month from a revised -7.3 in April.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected May euro zone consumer confidence to be at -7.7.
In the European Union (EU) as a whole, consumer sentiment rose by 1.1 point to -6.2.
