Exclusive: EU regulators to investigate Telia's bid for Bonnier - sources

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - EU antitrust regulators will open an in-depth investigation into Telia Company's close to $1 billion bid for Bonnier Broadcasting after it failed to address competition concerns, two people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

Leading Nordic telecoms operator Telia announced the 9.2-billion crown (809.6 million pounds) deal in July last year as it seeks to expand its media business. Owned by a prominent Swedish family, Bonnier's brands include Sweden's biggest commercial broadcaster TV4 and streaming service C More and Finnish MTV.
