Swimsuit wearing ice-skaters braved the Siberian cold to take part in a race on Lake Baikal on Saturday.

Swimsuit wearing ice-skaters braved the Siberian cold to take part in a race on Lake Baikal on Saturday.

It was part of the Baikal International Skating Marathon, held on the world's largest and deepest freshwater lake.

Around 30 men, women and children took part despite the sub-zero temperatures.

Strong winds were also a challenge as participants fought for victory over 500 metres.
