(Reuters) - Pest control firm Rentokil Initial Plc on Thursday reported a 7.4 percent rise in 2018 adjusted pretax profit, boosted by acquisitions and higher demand for its services and said it expects a slight increase in market expectations for the year.

"We have made a good start to the year and we would expect the underlying outperformance in 2018 to flow into 2019," the company said.

Rentokil, which reported adjusted pretax profit of 308 million pounds for the year ended Dec. 31, also said Richard Solomons will succeed John McAdam as chairman, who has held the position for over 10 years.
