A police spokeswoman in the city of Koszalin, Monika Kosiec, said Friday the teenage victims were probably celebrating one of their birthdays.

“This was unprecedented ... any sort of prevention is important,” he said.
At the weekend, Polish authorities carried out inspections of at least 178 escape room locations across the country. 129 did not meet health and safety standards, and thirteen locations were ordered closed, said the head of state fire services Leszek Suski.
The victims of the Koszalin fire were 15-year-old girls, the Polish Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski has said.
A 25-year-old man has been hospitalized with burns and could not be immediately questioned by investigators.
The victims were probably celebrating one of their birthdays, Monika Kosiec, a police spokeswoman in the city of Koszalin, said on Friday.
She added that the bodies were found after firefighters put out a fire that broke out around 5 p.m. at the location.
Polish media reported that the owner of the establishment was arrested on Sunday.
In an "Escape Room" game, the players are locked inside a room or building and must find clues that help them to leave it.
