It's said to be France's only underwater archaeological site. The gate to the ancient city of Olbia can be found just metres from the surface of the Mediterranean, off Almanarre beach in Hyeres.

Before being a Roman city, Olbia was a Greek fortress founded in the 4th Century BC.

The spot is now a great destination for divers and snorkellers.
