LILLE, France (Reuters) - France captain Yannick Noah made an expected switch to his line-up for the final day of the Davis Cup final on Sunday as he replaced Jeremy Chardy with Lucas Pouille.

Pouille, surprisingly left out of the opening singles rubbers on Friday despite his world ranking of 32 being the highest of the players available to Noah, will face world number seven Marin Cilic.

France are trailing 2-1 and need to win both of Sunday's singles matches in the Stade Pierre Mauroy to retain the title.

Cilic beat Pouille in the 2016 Davis Cup semi-final, the only previous clash between the two players.

Chardy was outplayed by Borna Coric on Friday while Cilic beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who is a doubt for Sunday because of a muscle injury picked up in that straight-sets defeat.

French pair Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert won Saturday's doubles against Ivan Dodig and Mate Pavic to keep the final alive.

Ten-times champions France are trying to become the first team since Australia in 1939 to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the final.
