(Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell <RDSa.AS> has started supplying natural gas from the Clipper South field to Britain's gas network, the company said on Thursday.

Shell is transporting the gas through its Clipper hub for processing at the company's Bacton terminal in Norfolk and the gas is then fed into Britain's National Grid, the company said.

The Ineos and Spirit Energy-owned Clipper South field is located in the southern part of the British sector of the North Sea in the Sole Pit area.

Under a new commercial agreement with Ineos and Spirit Energy, Shell was remotely operating the Clipper South field, the company said.
