FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Deutsche Post <DPWGn.DE> said on Monday it would split its post and parcel delivery division into a German and an international unit as it restructures the business.

The German business will be renamed Post & Paket Deutschland and will be led by group Chief Executive Frank Appel, while the international business - previously DHL Parcel Europe and DHL eCommerce - will be called DHL eCommerce Solutions and led by board member Ken Allen.

Deutsche Post in June set out plans to cut costs and invest in productivity at its post and parcel delivery division (PeP) to better cope with rising staff and transport.

The split will allow for a more stringent execution of the PeP turnaround plan and for better leveraging opportunities within the booming e-commerce logistics sector, Deutsche Post said.
