Around 100 protesters gathered outside the Frankfurt stock exchange on Saturday to demand a stable financial system "beneficial to humans and nature". 

Around 100 protesters gathered outside the Frankfurt stock exchange on Saturday to demand a stable financial system "beneficial to humans and nature". 

The activists, from anti-globalisation group Attac, brought two life-size statues of a bull and a bear to the stock exchange, pelted them with paint and showed banners reading "crime scene," "save the planet — not banks" and "education is a basic right — capital yield is not."

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc filed for bankruptcy protection on September 15, 2008 after trying to finance too many risky assets with too little capital, becoming the largest US bankruptcy and the highest-profile casualty of the global credit crisis.
