(Reuters) - Hearts manager Craig Levein was taken to hospital on Monday morning but is recovering well after receiving treatment, the Scottish Premiership club said.
The club did not disclose the illness or when the 53-year-old was likely to return.
"Having received medical treatment, Craig is now recovering well in hospital," the club said in a statement.
"No further comment will be made at this time and the club asks that Craig and his family's privacy be respected, as we all wish him a speedy recovery."
Levein watched Hearts beat Kilmarnock 1-0 in the league on Saturday to keep up their 100 percent start to the campaign after three matches.
He was appointed as Hearts manager on a three-year contract in August last year.
