(Reuters) – Premier League newcomers Cardiff City have signed Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa on a season-long loan deal, the Welsh club said on Thursday.
The 24-year-old Spaniard passed a medical at Cardiff’s training ground on Thursday and could be in line for a debut in their opener at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Camarasa, who came through Valencia’s academy, helped Betis finish sixth in La Liga last season.
He is Cardiff’s fifth new recruit since they gained promotion back to the top flight having spent a season there in 2013-14. All of their other signings, including Norwich City’s winger Josh Murphy, have come from England’s second-tier.
