Lynx release in Portugal

The Portuguese Forestry and Nature Conservation Institute (ICNF) released two Iberian Lynx, in Guadiana Valley Natural Park, Serpa.

The Lynx "Odelouca" (female) and "Ouriço"(male) were released for the first time in the Zona de Caça Turistica (Tourist hunting area) of Herdade de Sobreira, a 20,000 hectare stretch of wilderness in Guadiana Valley Natural Park, Serpa (Alentejo).

Alentejo has already seen the release of 29 Iberian Lynx after the species was wiped out in the area at the end of the 20th century.
