Residents of the Greek seaside town of Galaxidi have taken part in the town's annual 'flour battle'.

They pelt each other with bags of dyed flour on the main street down to Galaxidi's old harbour.

The battle takes place every Clean Monday, an orthodox Christian holiday which marks the beginning of Lent and the end of the carnival season.

The town is situated 120 miles west of Athens and only has around 1700 inhabitants but was once an important trading port.
