Video captured on the dashcam of the police vehicle showed the 26-year veteran of the force breaking the sunroof and pulling out the driver from the burning wreckage.
The policeman was trailing the speeding car before it crashed through the side of the road.
Police added that he was later arrested as responding officers detected the odour of marijuana and alcohol on the driver.
