In Croatia, a forest fire broke out above Zivogosce, a village on the Makarska Riviera.
The fire is now under control, thanks to the efforts of some 100 firefighters and three water bombers.
The blaze engulfed an area of scrubland.
Private homes and tourist facilities are no longer in danger, say officials.
At one point the fire reached the main Adriatic road.
