A policewoman is fighting for her life after being shot in the head at a train station near Munich on Tuesday morning.

She suffered ‘life-threatening injuries’ after a man – who had been stopped for a security check – seized a gun from one of her colleagues.

The man, 37, had grabbed the weapon after pushing a policeman on the platform as a train was entering the station, according to Marcus da Gloria Martins, a spokesman for Munich police.

Police say the man was arrested and the incident was neither terrorism or politically-motivated, report AFP.

“It involved a man acting alone and for personal reasons,” said da Gloria Martins. “There was not a political or religious motivation.”

Two other people were also injured but their lives are not in danger, say police.
