Police in Chile’s capital Santiago clashed with protesters demanding more money is spent on education. Water cannons and tear gas were fired at the activists, as some, dressed in black and waving anarchist flags, threw rocks and sticks at police vehicles.

Police in Chile’s capital Santiago clashed with protesters demanding more money is spent on education. Water cannons and tear gas were fired at the activists, as some, dressed in black and waving anarchist flags, threw rocks and sticks at police vehicles.

Students from both universities and secondary schools, as well as their teachers and many families, protested. For years, Chileans have been protesting over funding, as well as plans to introduce a more privatized education system.
