Mexico resort moves to address seaweed surge

Tonnes of algae and seaweed have been washing up at one of Mexico’s most iconic resorts – forcing authorities to act.

Diggers have moved in to try and bury the unsightly plants, which stretch along more than 180km of beach near Cancun.

A hotel manager at the resort, Walter Espinoza, told Reuters that some of his guests have not been happy with the seaweed surge.
