Watch live the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition 1st Gala concert: The prestigious classical music competition reaches exhilarating climax

After over two weeks of electrifying performances, the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition comes to a nail-biting climax on 1 July as the winners of the prestigious music competition are announced. In partnership with medici.tv, Euronews will live broadcast the celebratory Winners’ Gala concert, live from the Moscow Conservatoire, on 2 July from 18h00 CET.

Over the course of two weeks, 120 candidates from around the globe competed in Moscow (piano and violin) and St. Petersburg (cello and voice), for the chance to win an award in this most high profile of music competitions. They performed in front of an astonishing panel of jurors – many of whom are past winners of the Tchaikovsky Competition and constitute some of the world’s top soloists – from Boris Berezovsky to Deborah Voigt.

The five winners (one each from piano, violin, cello, female voice and male voice) will perform in a triumphant gala concert, in this, the 175th anniversary year of the composer’s birth. The much-anticipated gala concert may also feature the announcement of a Grand Prix winner, upon the discretion of Maestro Valery Gergiev.

The whole competition will be available to watch free and in its entirety on replay via tch15.medici.tv, for the next four years until the next competition. Content includes the competition rounds, gala concerts, interviews and much more.
