The Russian FA claims it does not have the cash to pay the salary of national team coach Fabio Capello.
The Italian is on a contract reputed to be worth around €8 m a year.
According to Russian media the former England boss has not been paid since Russia’s early exit from the World Cup in Brazil.
That despite him signing a new contract in January to take him through to the 2018 World Cup which Russia hosts.
A member of Russian football executive committee Sergey Stepashin said: “It is not something to be proud of that we can’t pay the coach what he is owed.”
Capello said he is rapidly running out of patience.
