Thailand coup leader Prayuth sworn in as PM

Thailand’s army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha has become the country’s new prime minister.

Prayuth, 60, was officially sworn in during a ceremony in Bangkok after being endorsed by King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

He oversaw a coup on 22 May, in which the military toppled Thailand’s elected civilian government.
