WWII bomb stops planes landing

Planes were prevented from landing at Frankfurt Airport while the controlled explosion of a Second World War bomb took place on a road nearby.

The blast caused 20-25 meter wide crater in the surface of the A3 neary Offenbach.

The 500 kilogram device was discovered during construction work at the airport.
