UN nuclear chief hopeful after latest Iran talks

The UN nuclear agency chief says he welcomes a firm commitment from Iran to resolve outstanding issues over its atomic activities.

Yukiya Amano met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran on Sunday.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has investigated possible military uses of Iran’s nuclear programme, which officials have continually died.

Amano’s trip comes ahead of an August 25 deadline for Iran to provide information relevant to the inquiry.
