It was a fun ride which went on far longer than expected!

In the US state of Maryland, 24 passengers had to be rescued by firefighters after a roller coaster train became jammed.

For more than five hours, passengers, which included seven children, were stuck near the top of the somewhat prophetically named Joker’s Jinx ride.

They were gradually brought to safety.

Normally the roller coaster at Six Flags America amusement park goes 75 kph and upside down four times.

It is not clear what caused the problem, but an investigation is underway.

There were no reported injuries.
