Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the Netherlands have disrupted traffic and flooded streets.

Thunder and lightning meant flights from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport were suspended for a while on Monday.

In some areas over 15 centimetres of rain fell in less than 24 hours and roads were closed for safety reasons.
