As voting in the European Parliament elections continues, polls in the Czech Republic closed on Saturday afternoon after the second and final day of voting.
Latvia, Malta and Slovakia started voting on Saturday morning. All three joined the EU in 2004.
Most other EU member states vote on Sunday. Among them, Greece will vote in the European elections and the second round of local elections. Greek political parties have been playing on voters’ fears of more austerity measures and political instability.
The results of the European elections will be announced at 11pm CET on Sunday when all EU member states will have voted on who will take up 751 seats of the European Parliament.
