The Coppa Italia Final between Serie A rivals Napoli and Fiorentina was delayed on Saturday evening following clashes before the game at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
According to reports, three Napoli supporters were injured by gunfire. One of the men was taken to the Villa San Pietro hospital in a critical condition after being hit in the chest.
The pistol used in the incidents has been found with Italian police suggesting the three shootings ‘did not appear to be linked to the broader clashes.’
The showpiece match, which was meant to kick off at 8pm, eventually got underway at 8.45 with Lorenzo Insigne scoring a brace of goals to hand Napoli a convincing 3-1 win over Fiorentina, for their fifth Italian Cup title.
