Slash and Aerosmith join up for US tour

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash joined veteran rockers Aerosmith for a roof-raising gig in front of a packed crowd at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles ahead of their North American tour.

Aerosmith’s first ever gig at the venue was back in 1973.

They are currently performing a series of concerts across Europe before the ‘Let Rock Rule’ tour kicks off in New York in July.

The Vamps launch debut album

On the other side of the Atlantic, The Vamps are the new darlings of the UK boy band scene.

The lads, who got together after meeting online, are a true product of the social media generation.

Following the global success of their two first singles ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘Wild Heart’, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of their debut album ‘Meet The Vamps’ this month.

“It’s 15 songs, all the songs we’ve been working on. We wrote about 40 songs for it so it’s quite hard picking from them. But yeah, it’s just us, basically. The three singles show a lot about us,” says band member Brad Simpson.

The Vamps are planning a UK and US tour this summer.

Coldplay video gives taster of new album

Coldplay have enlisted the charms of Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi – who shot to fame in ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ – for their new music video.

‘Magic’ is the first single from the British band’s new album ‘Ghost Stories’ due out in May.

Directed by Grammy-award winner Jonas Akerlund, who’s worked with celebrities like Madonna, U2 and Moby, the black and white video plays out like an old silent film.

No tour dates have been announced yet.
