Paris taxi drivers suspend strike

If you flew into Paris this week you may have struggled to get a taxi, as irate drivers were on strike, furious at what they call unfair competition from lighter-regulated minicabs.

The strike has now been suspended while the government evaluates the situation, after it promised no new minicabs would be allowed on the road while the consultation process is under way.
