American Hustle and Gravity dominate nominations for The Oscars 2014

Films American Hustle and Gravity dominate nominations for this year’s Oscars.

Both are put forward for 10 gongs, including ‘Best Picture’, where they will face competition from Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Her, The Wolf of Wall Street, 12 Years a Slave, Philomena and Nebraska.

Christian Bale is among those in the running for ‘Best Actor’, along with Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club).

The best actress nominees include Sandra Bullock (Gravity), Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine), Amy Adams (American Hustle), Judi Dench (Philomena) and Meryl Streep (August: Osage County).
