The Czech Republic has a new government at last – negotiations having lasted since an election in October.

Three centre-left parties have agreed to unite behind the Social Democrat’s Bohuslav Sobotka as Prime Minister, ending the centre-right’s eight-year hold on power.

But he will need to convince President Milos Zeman, a political foe, to approve his cabinet.
