Tunisia's poorer regions go on strike

The headquarters of the Islamist Ennahda party in Gafsa in central Tunisa went up in flames on Wednesday as violence flared around the country.

Three Tunisian regions were paralysed by general strikes as anger about regional wealth disparities boiled over. A complaint that drove the 2011 revolution, many feel the new government has done nothing to improve the situation.
