The campus of Yale University in the United States is in lockdown after confirmed reports of a gunman.

Police rushed to the scene after an anonymous call was made from a telephone booth. Yale later said the reports of a man with a gun were “confirmed”.

Considered one of the world’s most prestigious universities, Yale is closed for the Thanksgiving break. Most students are away. Any remaining on the site in New Haven, Connecticut, have been warned to stay indoors until further notice.
