Defending champions the Czech Republic were pitted against the Netherlands at the 2014 Davis Cup opening round draw, which took place in London on Tuesday.

Tomas Berdych’s team-mates, the 2012 champions, have reached the final again this year and will next lock horns with Serbia who were drawn at home to Switzerland, setting up a mouth-watering clash between world number one Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

Elsewhere, France will host Australia while Britain will take on the United States after a five-year absence from the elite. This will be their first clash since 1999, when Team USA won 3-2.
