Ousted Maldives president faces run-off

The former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed will face a run-off election on September 28 after he failed to win a majority in the country’s presidential polls.

He became first democratically elected president in 2008 but was forced out of office in February 2012 in what his supporters called a coup.
