Police in Tunisia are still searching for six inmates after a mass jail break in Gabes on Sunday.

Forty nine prisoners escaped after faking an emergency and then ambushing guards.

It is the latest in a series of prison breaks that have swept the country since President Ben Ali was ousted two years ago.

In total, it is believed around a third of Tunisia’s 31,000 prisoners have absconded.
