French judges have called former head of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn the “lynchpin” of orgies, as authorities investigate an alleged prostitution ring.

The one-time presidential favourite is due to stand trial to face charges of aggravated pimping.

Strauss-Kahn says he did not know the women at the parties were being paid to have sex with him.
