Russia and China are undertaking a joint naval drill. The fleets have gathered in the far-eastern port of Vladivostock.

The operation named ‘Joint Sea 2013’ is aimed at improving the two navies’ ability to ‘coordinate defensive operations’.

A total of nineteen ships, eight planes and two teams of special forces will be taking part in what is one of the biggest joint military operations in the region.
