Water cannon has been used to drive back protesters in Northern Ireland after another night of unrest, caused by a row over the flying of the Union flag at Belfast City Hall.

The night saw the shutdown of Belfast’s bus service and the closure of roads, with demonstrators throwing bricks and bottles at police.
