At least 28 people have been killed in southeast Kenya.

Pokomo farmers attacked Kipao village at dawn and unleashed terror, according to Kenyan police.

Houses were burned and people murdered by machetes.

Nineteen villagers were killed along with nine assailants.

Tensions between Pokomo settlers and the semi-nomadic Orma people have increased in recent times over grazing rights and access to water.
