Israel foreign minister will not resign over financial charges

Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is refusing to resign despite being charged with fraud and breach of trust. 
 
The charges come five weeks before a general election which his right-wing party – which is in a coalition with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party – is expected to win. They relate to his alleged role in a financial scandal that dates back more than a decade.
