Russian politician barred over 'rude language'

A Russian opposition politician has been banned from speaking in parliament for a month for using allegedly “rude and offensive” language.

Ilya Ponomarev of the Just Russia party uttered the phrase “swindlers and thieves”, widely associated with President Putin’s ruling party.

Another opposition figure was dismissed earlier this month.
