Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev, owner of two leading British newspapers, has been charged with hooliganism over a televised punch-up.

Lebedev owns The Independent and the London Evening Standard, as well as a campaigning newspaper and a bank in Russia.

A known Kremlin critic, he says he is the victim of a vendetta by President Vladimir Putin.

He has been ordered not to leave Russia and faces up to five years in jail is convicted.
